Newly elected Chairman Alexander Redpath (far-left), Secretary Alasdair O'Hara (middle right)Lagan Valley Young Unionist Association held a meeting on the 19th of May 2009. The guest speaker was Miss Paula Bradshaw Party Officer for Media and Communications. Paula spoke on a variety of prevailing political issues and encouraged lively interaction from the floor.
One key item of business was the election of the new Chairperson following the resignation of Ashley Wragg. Mr Wragg was standing down due to work and study committments but continues to be an active and highly valued member of the Association. Ashley Wragg Proposed Alexander Redpath (Hon. Vice-President) seconded by Alasdair O'Hara. There were no further nominations and Mr Redpath was elected unopposed.
The Association discussed a number of potential events and the officer team promised to formulate a plan of work for the year.
